The harvest

The small tomatoes are ripening now and I had Sammy help me pick some off for munching.  She loves tomatoes.  Picking and keeping their shape was a little bit harder for her.  They were more Crushed Tomatoes than Whole Tomatoes, those that actually made it into the house.  She was eating them right off the vine.  And I had to explain that we just wanted the RED ones, not the green ones.  A lesson in colors.

The best way...

...to eat watermelon:  sit on the counter with your feet in the sink wearing only a diaper.  I dare you.  And please provide photos.

She loves it

Sammy did, in fact, get into the Tyke car and scoot around.  This is going to be a great toy both winter and summer, inside and out.  She was all around the kitchen because it's easier to scoot on tile rather than carpet.  She 'went' to Starbucks, Home Depot, and grocery shopping she told me.

Sammy always cooks with the four food groups:  donuts, ketchup, plastic and teflon.

This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago.  On this past Wednesday, I weighed her.  16 pounds.  Oh, my aching back!

Yoplait

When Daddy was little like this and I would have to go grocery shopping after work, I would pick him up and take him with me.  Being so close to dinner time he was hungry.  I would grab a Yoplait and let him drink it in the shopping cart.  It would be so messy but at least he was happy and there were no tantrums.  Yoplait saved the day many, many times.  Whenever I see Yoplait I always think of Daddy with it all over him mouth and him slurping away at it.  I'm so glad to see Sammy is more of a little lady and uses a spoon!  (btw, at my grocery store now, they have a side container of spoons next to the yogurt section. Obviously I started something all those years ago!)

Papa?  Please tell Nana that we're sorry for taking all the couch cushions off and using all the extra blankets to make forts.  Ok, Papa?  Papa?  Where are you????!!

Out for a stroll

Reinforcements

Papa also came down to the pond to help with the fishing tournament.  A tournament that consisted of one.

This is Uncle Kyle showing Sammy the ropes on fishing in a pond during Mommy's family reunion held two weeks ago.  I love the fact that Uncle Kyle knows how to use the BARBIE fishing pole!  Way to go Uncle Kyle!!

Sammy really liked holding onto the little turtle floater thingy.  And she really liked the fact that she had TWO people on the sides of her holding on.  No escaping now!

Special bathing suits

Behold!  A suit size of 6 months for a little 3 month old.  Get used to it Olivia...bathing suits are always mis-marked in sizes.  Or is it just me that that happens to?

Sammy loves playing around the pool but I'm not sure if she's really into 'lessons'...Mommy said she was very stiff.
