Mix and match

It became time for Olivia's pierced earrings to come out and her Christmas earrings to go in.  This would be the first change of earrings since she got them pierced.  Cute aren't they?  Or should I say, isn't it?  Because Mommy could NOT get the other earring out!  Olivia's little ear bled.....So now, Olivia has one pearl earring in on her right side and one pink rhinestone earring in her left side.  It's a new fashion...you know how kids are these days.  Nothing makes sense.

Eww...what stinks?

Sammy managed to spill milk in her hair.  Mommy planned on bathing her that evening.  But by the time the afternoon rolled around and she had played hard, her scalp started to have um, shall we say, an odor....so I washed her hair.  Because I have straight hair, I have absolutely no talent whatsoever with dealing with curly hair.  Mommy says not to brush it and it will be fine.  Something about not brushing your hair is like fingernails on a chalk board to me.   Aiyeeeeeeeeeee!!!!  This first shot is what I call the Elvis Presley Pompadour look.  Thank you, thankyouverymuch.

This second shot is when I grabbed a hold of her, tossed her around a few times and brushed her hair with a truck.  I like it.

I'm very full, well, ok, just one more bite.

When Mommy gave this piece of sausage to Olivia you would think that it was manna from heaven.  She went to work on that thing like no one's business.  And God help you if you tried to take it away!  She would yell her head off, tears squirting from her eyes, back arching like the little girl from the Exorcist until she got the sausage back into her grasp and her mouth.  Thank God that it got so slimey that it slipped from her hand and onto the counter.  I quickly started shoveling food into her mouth as fast as she would let me (and it WAS FAST) and I surreptiously threw the sausage down the drain.  Dodged a bullet.

Musical Prodigy

Sammy insisted on teaching Olivia on how to play the xlyphone.  Thank God she doesn't know chopstix yet!

Who's next?

Auntie let Sammy paint her toenails.  Red Cross Red.

We need to work on coloring within in the lines.
Kinda looks like a lawnmower accident, doesn't it?

Watch out!

Sammy wanted to read some new books here yesterday.  I got this one down that I had purchased a few years ago for the kids.  There's more words than pictures so her interest in it faded quickly.  I'm sure that in a few years, we'll go through it again and we'll find things more age appropriate for her.

This is how I feel today

You can tell when I'm having issues with Google and their stupid Cloud Picker program that they are testing.  This post is late.  Very late.  When Google tests this program, using my pc as their guinea pig I'm sure, I can't load any photos here.  I then must dig out the good old laptop and work from there.  However, since I don't use my laptop very often, when I do and turn it on, many, many, many updates must be done before I can get to doing what I want to do.  So, here is Olivia...making a face.  Much like the face I make when Google invades my computer.  Stupid software.

Babble babble babble

Olivia talking from Lorna King on Vimeo.

Mommy warned me when she dropped off the kids the other day that Olivia has discovered her voice.  Discovered?  More like discovered and taken hostage!  This is what it was like ALL MORNING LONG.

No, you're a pickle

Sammy came back with a new expression from her vacation...."You a pickle".  The first time she told me that, I was...."uh, what did you just say?"

"you a pickle"

"I'm a pickle?"

"no, you a hotdog"

"wait, what?"

"you a pickle"

Thanks, Papa.

Watch out now

Sammy came over to find a new ballerina outfit

Where is my poolboy?

The next couple of days I will be posting photos that Mommy has sent from their vacation in Ixtapa.  Most of these have appeared on Facebook, so this might be a rerun for you.  If not, enjoy!

Little swimmer

Little Olivia is having fun in the sun in Ixtapa.  Here she is playing in the pool with Mommy.  I want to be there!

Defective pants

Apparently the snap on Olivia's pants doesn't work.  I don't understand it, either.  Many of her pants are like that.....

Really, it's true!

Now Sammy and I have a race that she doesn't know she's in.  I race to take her photo with her clothes on as soon as she walks in the door because by the time she hits the living room, she's left a trail of them behind.

Right now her eye color is denim blue

And yes, that is the top to a bottle.  It's lightweight and squishy.  She loves gnawing on it and drooling all over herself.

Leg Warmers

All ballerinas use leg warmers to keep, well, their legs warm.  Samantha is no exception.  However, most ballerinas do not use Princess training pants.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away

A long time ago, I read or was told or heard on tv or maybe I'm making this up, that threats and bribery had no place in child rearing.  Hmm...interesting, I thought.  Tell me more.  You should never use threats such as, "If you don't eat your liver, you won't get any dessert!"  or "If you don't clean up your room, I'll give all your toys to children in Apalachia!"  (Like my toddlers knew what or where Apalachia was.)  Anyway, I learned early on that wherever I got that sage piece of advice never had children of their own.  Threats and bribery became a way of life in our house, only we didn't call it threats or bribery, for that matter.  We called it raising a family.  And thank God and Greyhound Mommy and Daddy are doing it the same way we did.  In this photo, Sammy is showing me a piece of chocolate that she gets when she uses the potty chair with results!  Threats?  Bribery?  Oh, yes we do.

Bean bag chair

Little Olivia got her very own bean bag chair which is just right for her.  It lets her join in on all the fun and be right in the middle of it all!
