A rite of passage for a kid

Papa and I have never cared that much for whipped cream on desserts.  We can take it or leave it. And so, I don't buy it for pies at holidays either.  But this year, I knew I wanted to do this with Sammy.  She's old enough.  Every kid gets to do this until such time they can do it to themselves when Mommy or Daddy aren't looking.  We had to show her how it was done with Uncle Dude as the spray reciprient.  I then sprayed some on her finger so she could taste it.  She loved the taste but was slightly hesitent on having it sprayed in her mouth.  By the end of the night she was an old hat at sprayed whipped cream!

I would like a sliver of pumpkin, please. with whipped cream. thank you very much.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner last night.  Sammy was a sweet little one, ready to help pass out the pie...oh and the whipped cream too!

Playing catch up

I have been playing catch up with my albums for the grandkids.  I've managed to get a few done featuring the newest little one.  However, 'playing catch up' is a very common phrase for any scrapbooking.  One can never be 'current'; there's alway another page to get done.  ;p

Whoosh! And she was gone.

And so it has come to this.  Papa and I now get a drive by kiss and hug from Sammy when she comes over.  Why?  Well, she has places to go, people to see....

Who's a Butterball?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Cover your mouth!

Sammy has been suffering from a cold that has hung on for too long.  And along with that cold is a nasty cough.  She's been very good when reminded to cover her mouth when she coughs.....poor little one.

Again with the horsey

Daddy has a friend who owns horseys.  They took the girls out for a visit and Sammy got to ride one.  Each time Sammy gets on a horse, she becomes more comfortable in the activity.  This time, she wouldn't stop talking all the time she was on the horse.  As Papa says, "someone put a nickle in her".

Can You Say Sooooo Cute!!!

Olivia's 4 month pictures, just one of the many.  The first time we tried taking her pictures for her 4 month it was a disaster, but this time went well!

I'm ready for my close up, Mr. deMille

Sammy was getting prepped for her Christmas photo shoot...but take a look at that orange lollypop stain on the front of her shirt...thanks, Sherril!!  Photoshop has a wonderful bleaching tool.....

Love it!

A very quick snapshot of these three beauties before Mommy changed her mind!!

Let's just get through Thanksgiving first, ok?

Sammy was very very interested in the trees and pointed out the Nutcracker to us.

Snug as a bug

You can barely see little Miss Blue Eyes all bundled up in her stroller!  It's been cold in the mornings outside now...

MJ

Yes, and we did a little shopping too.  While we were wandering around the store, we passed by the hat section.  Papa put this on Sammy and I snapped the photo.

Charge it!

Those two little words should bring terror into any parent's heart.

Sopapilla

We ordered a sopapilla for Sammy to try.  She preferred the strawberry jelly on it instead.

She's learning the ropes.

While we had lunch I had my camera out (naturally) and Sammy wanted to take pictures.  She's actually becoming quite good a photo composition.  Take a look.

Taco breath

We took her to a really good Mexican restaurant where she wanted her own taco.  She didn't want to share my place or her Papa's plate.  Her. Own. Taco.

Nighty night

This past weekend, Papa and I took Sammy out for a lunch date.  We drove out to her house and picked her up.  5 minutes into the drive to the restaurant, this is what happened.

My vote goes with this one

You know how some parents always pull out embarrassing photos to show off at their kid's 16th birthday of when the kid was a KID?  This one should go into that pile.  She's quite the fashion plate, isn't she?

Always changing

I can't believe how from one week to the next, Olivia's face changes.  She's lost that little tiny infant look.

In the lap of luxury

This is how the three of them watched Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Out

Olivia is like a little puppy.  First she's awake, smiling, kicking her feet fully engaged with what's happening all around her.  Then, just like that...she's sound asleep.

I see you....

As Sammy gets older and understands directions, she has learned that I will show her her photo after I take it on the camera.  This time I guess she wanted to give me the 'coy' look.  Or see how she looks with only her face showing.

She comes with her own halo

Try as I might, I don't think I will ever capture the absolute sweetness of life this child brings to us.

Finally!

A profile shot that shows Her Immensness in full glory.

Saved by my laptop!

Many of you know that I've been delving into my family geneology and discovering cousins right and left.  But did any of you know that Olivia is Groucho Marx's great-great-great granddaughter?

technical difficulties

Google has struck again.  It is not allowing me to post photos at this time.  Something about a Google Picker...anyhoo....stay tuned.  Your regularly broadcast show will resume shortly.

Measuring up

Every six months, the babies get measured in height and Papa and I have a door frame in the kitchen that shows each's growth spurts.  Only Olivia doesn't have one yet.  October marks Sammy being 2.5 years old and a new label on the door frame.  35.75 inches!!
