Kate Middleton has nothing on this Princess!

Since today much of the world is watching the creation, anointing,  and spectacle of the new British Princess, I thought it would be appropriate to show that we've had a new Princess here for almost one year.

 And personally, I think that this Princess is far superior in beauty than Kate.  IMHO.

Bear Number 1

Seeing her bear for the very first time (with Auntie's help)

The Easter Auntie

Auntie and Uncle Dude got the girls these huge stuffed bears for Easter.  Mommy's reaction?  "We need a bigger house."

And the party is just getting started...

Olivia's reaction to her Easter basket was, " Meh..."  She was more interested in watching the adults get excited about the baskets than she was.  Next year, with some chocolate in her?  Watch out.

Finding the eggs

At year number 3, Sammy is remembering all about finding the Easter eggs because they have two M&M's in each one.

The first time

Here is our sick little birthday girl trying her new slide for the very first time.  She did this, had the chills, came inside, climbed onto Daddy's lap and threw up.  What a crappy way to spend your birthday.  Feel better soon, baby girl.

The book reading

I pray that all the kids find a love of reading the way I did.  Loving books and loving reading are two different things.  I love coffee table books, but I usually don't 'read' them.  I can read books over and over again.  These two here love for me to go through the books with them reading a page, skipping 8 pages, pointing to an animal on another page...Sammy loves when I read the silly rhymes of Mother Goose stories.

The first one

Here is my attempt at capturing her hair color, her eye color and her skin color.  As fair as she looks at first, these swatches show that she's darker than she looks!  And being in chlorinated pools has put some green tint in her hair as well! :-D

Someday....

To Darling Olivia,

Someday you will be able to wear little cute bows and ribbons in your hair.  When you get hair.  When you get hair and it's long enough.  You'll be about 2 1/2 years old if you're anything like your sister.  But for now, we'll just balance things on your head, much like a trained dog.  Have fun with that because I do.

Four months apart in age between these two.  Did the two Mommys plan this?  Although Olivia isn't mobile yet, when she does...and the two of them take off playing?  I can hear the yelling and the running and the yelling now.

Bed head

I was at Sammy's house yesterday when she woke up in the morning.  Barreling out of her room, running into the family room, she jumped on me.  What a great morning hug, I thought, trying to see my way around this mass of hair.  Yikes!  When I got a look at it, I had to laugh, thinking, 'Oh my, you're gonna hate this when you grow up!'
