Normally, Auntie puts the angel on top of our tree being the youngest in Papa's and my immediate family, but Auntied has been traveling.  I really wanted to complete this very last piece of holiday decorating and enlisted (mandatory volunteer?) Papa and Sammy.  She did a great job!

2010 Nutcracker

Although this was Sammy's second time seeing the Nutcracker, she doesn't remember the first time.....

And this time?  Was MAGICAL!  From the moment the dancers started dancing her mouth fell open and she pointed excitedly.  DANCERS!  TO MUSIC!  And the CLAPPING every time someone did something extra special!  She was entranced.  And so were all of us...with her.  Towards the end, she tried pulling Papa out into the isles to dance with her like the dancers on stage were doing.  For two hours, her little life was all about ballet and dancers and little kids on stage and more dancers and the jumping!!  THE JUMPING OF THE DANCERS!!

Sammy was checking out her Christmas stocking the other day.  It was empty.  I'm sure that she's rethinking this whole 'naughty or nice' thing....

Daddy got the whipped cream out (again!) and this time Auntie joined in the fun.  Thank God I held onto the camera when it was MY turn to have it shot into my mouth!

Papa and Sammy made a snowman this past weekend when the family went out to chop down Christmas trees.  There wasn't any coal for eyes so Papa improvised with moss.

Many of you will remember from the Ghost of Christmas Past, that this little red elf is Santa's emissary.  He checks up on how the little boys and girls are doing.  If they're naughty or nice...c'mon, you know the drill by now.  Anyway, Sammy spied it this morning.  Hmmm....you can just see the wheels spinning in her head....'should I touch it?'  'will it bite me?' 'I'll just keep my distance with this guy.'

Juggling three things at once

Every Mommy understands how sometimes it just seems like they are juggling so much!  Going shopping with two kids...whew..that's hard!  And just exactly where do the groceries fit in?

A rite of passage for a kid

Papa and I have never cared that much for whipped cream on desserts.  We can take it or leave it. And so, I don't buy it for pies at holidays either.  But this year, I knew I wanted to do this with Sammy.  She's old enough.  Every kid gets to do this until such time they can do it to themselves when Mommy or Daddy aren't looking.  We had to show her how it was done with Uncle Dude as the spray reciprient.  I then sprayed some on her finger so she could taste it.  She loved the taste but was slightly hesitent on having it sprayed in her mouth.  By the end of the night she was an old hat at sprayed whipped cream!

I would like a sliver of pumpkin, please. with whipped cream. thank you very much.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner last night.  Sammy was a sweet little one, ready to help pass out the pie...oh and the whipped cream too!

Playing catch up

I have been playing catch up with my albums for the grandkids.  I've managed to get a few done featuring the newest little one.  However, 'playing catch up' is a very common phrase for any scrapbooking.  One can never be 'current'; there's alway another page to get done.  ;p

Whoosh! And she was gone.

And so it has come to this.  Papa and I now get a drive by kiss and hug from Sammy when she comes over.  Why?  Well, she has places to go, people to see....

Cover your mouth!

Sammy has been suffering from a cold that has hung on for too long.  And along with that cold is a nasty cough.  She's been very good when reminded to cover her mouth when she coughs.....poor little one.

Daddy has a friend who owns horseys.  They took the girls out for a visit and Sammy got to ride one.  Each time Sammy gets on a horse, she becomes more comfortable in the activity.  This time, she wouldn't stop talking all the time she was on the horse.  As Papa says, "someone put a nickle in her".

Sammy was getting prepped for her Christmas photo shoot...but take a look at that orange lollypop stain on the front of her shirt...thanks, Sherril!!  Photoshop has a wonderful bleaching tool.....

Yes, and we did a little shopping too.  While we were wandering around the store, we passed by the hat section.  Papa put this on Sammy and I snapped the photo.
