I can't help it

Little miss Sammy actually stayed in a pose I put her in today and then when I got home and looked at these wonderful photos, I had to play around with them in photoshop.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Cousins Bench

For the very first time!  Two out of three cousins are on the bench.  Of course, one is a little shakey with the whole concept of sitting upright, but hey!

Meanwhile...

While the rest of us were stuffing our faces at dinner, Olivia didn't have a care in the world and napped through it.

You blow it!

With a little help from Auntie, Sammy got the into the swing of getting the whirlygig to work.

At this rate....

Olivia has put on 7 ounces and has grown 1.5 inches in two weeks.  THIS WAS NOT A TYPO.  Yes, she has grown oneandhalfinchespeople!

As the personality emerges

Little Olivia went to work with Mommy for an hour or two the other day.  When she arrived, it was apparent that She Was Not Happy.  Not. One. Bit.  She will let you know if you're disturbing her.   But the great thing is, this is a rare occurence.  She is a very calm baby who doesn't make much noise.  Yet.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy and Papas!!

smooches

Sammy is the BEST smoocher!  Here she is giving her Nana a little smooch for the camera.  It was a request for a photo op that she fully understands.  Now that Sammy's communication skills are growing by leaps and bounds, her expressions of amazement or exclamation are great!  While I was there visiting, her mylar balloons got caught up in the ceiling fan.  After everyone calmed down and she was given back her balloons, she said, "Jeepers!", an expression her Mommy says.  It was hysterical!

Check out this 'Fro

We are still all amazed at the wig amount of hair that Olivia was born with.  We're all loving the dark hair for her, but this much?  Sammy didn't get this much hair on her head until last week!

Wheeeeeee!

In less than a 24 hour period, Sammy went from merely sitting at the top of her slide being encouraged to let go and not.  To. This.  She's a wild and crazy, kid.

If she loves the thrill of the slide, wait until Splash Mountain is explained to her.  But the thing is, is Daddy hates roller coasters with a PASSION.  He just may have to get over that
 "Do it again, Daddy!"

You little Poop!

Yeah, take a look at Sammy's eyes.  She knows her Papa is trying to take her photo but she won't look at him.
"oh, hi, Papa.  Did you want to take my picture?"

Nestled into Mommy's shoulder

This is one Party Animal, let me tell you.  This is what she did at the Meet Olivia BBQ.  Oh, and then she ate.  And did this again.

Angel kisses or stork bites?

Little Avia (that's how Sammy pronounces her name now) has two little stork bites on her eyelids.  I kiss them each time I see her.

Presents!

Little Sammy recieved this pink bracelet from Olivia and it is engraved "To my big Sister".  Isn't that sweet?  But Sammy wouldn't have any of it for some time.  Much later, she put it on for a few seconds.  She'll love it when she's older though.

Hello Little One

Are you my Mama?  Here Mommy finally gets to hold Olivia for the very first time.

Detente'

Much like the Paris Accords, the meeting between these two nations was filled with apprehension, bordedom, and distraction.  BALLOONS!!!!  Sammy was more interested in the gift of balloons in the room that the actual reason behind the gift.  Look!  A baby!! YOUR baby sister!  Um, yeah.  And  BALLOONS!  Mommy and Daddy, along with Nana, Auntie, both Papas and yours truly tried to interest Sammy in her little sister.  No deal.  Because there was BALLOONS.

Hello! Bonjour! Hola! Whas happn'.........

Welcome to the brand new blog that will showcase two beautiful little girls, Samantha and Olivia.  While Sammy had her very own blog for two years, I felt that it would be easier on all concerned (me....oh, and you, of course!) to access just one blog instead of jumping around to read the other.  Call it a blog mash up.  This will be a look into the meeting of sisters and their coming to terms with each other.  It could get bloody.  With the help of their Mommy on occasion, this will also be a daily look at them for all friends and family to see.  I love reading your comments so don't be shy.  If you like a photo or entry, let us know!  If my mind wanders and I end up making up events (oh, yes, I have!) or the beginning of Alzheimers sets in, let me know!  It makes for entertaining reading not only for me but for the others as well.

I am publishing this today, June 7, 2010, the date of Olivia's birth and the girls meeting each other for the very first time.  We have all talked to Sammy about this occasion and she understands as much as any little two year old can.  Which means, not at all.  Sammy just thinks Mommy got really fat and she keeps telling me her tummy is called Olivia.  Fine, change the word from belly to Olivia, I don't care.  I'm two.  I still use diapers and I can't dress myself.

Since I'm writing this in advance of the actual delivery, I'm warning you now that the first of the photos will be blurry.  Not because I use a crappy camera.  It's because my eyes will be blurry watching these two little ones and itching to hold the latest, greatest addition to the family.  You will get to see so many of the 'firsts' in little Olivia's life, just like you did with Sammy's.  With Mommy's help (and maybe Nana's) the first few days and weeks will be immortalized including meeting the family, the family pets, going home, poo-ing, and mostly sleeping while Sammy pets her.

SO, sit back and enjoy these future memories.

Mimi

P.S.  Yes, I will be changing the masthead photo just as soon as I get a photo of the two girls together.  But I am a sucker for reference humor.
